I'd go with rail fence or log cabin. Or maybe a Chinese Coin.

Many, many thanks to all of you who so graciously advised me regarding patterns for 2" strips. I am new and so glad for the help. Now to decide which to use, and get to work. Thanks again.

I'm new here and havent quilted in awhile. I have loved seeing the pre-cut Moda (and other manufacturer) products out there as I'm a horrible rotary cutter. I just purchased two books on Jelly roll quilts (a Jelly roll is Moda's name for a large batch of 2.5" strips rolled up). Very cute. I want to do a quilt whereby I use them to outline certain blocks. I've seen several of different patterns even sewn together to make a really cool looking binding. I've also seen some strip quilts with applique (all the strips sewn together length wise and then some applique done on top) You can also sew several together and then cut then for unique border strips or blocks.. Have fun!
