I've been a member here for several months, but I'm still puzzled about the meaning of some of the abbreviations that are written in comments left by other quilters. Today I'm wondering what "QOV" means. Is there somewhere the abbreviations and their meanings are listed? If not, will one of you post a list of the ones most commonly used? I will appreciate your help. This may help some of the other newer members, too.

Here is one and if you put abbreviations in the search box you will get more.

QOV is quilts of valour, given to wounded soldiers. There is a group in Canada doing these as well.

type abreviations in the search box at the top, it will take you to all the posts of them, there are lots.
quilts of valor are done by so many people here that sometimes they forget that not everyone knows what that is. most of the others are pretty common on the internet, like dd (darling daughter) dh...husband, ect. but every once in awhile one will pop up that is (not a usual one) i had to stop and think about it for a moment when i first saw your question...had to stop and think about what the heck p.l was supposed to mean...must have been totally evident to the person who wrote it...but it took me a long time to figure out it was Project Linus...
anyway,,,when all else fails, ask :)

Thank you to all of you for your help. I should have thought of using the "search" instead of asking my question. Some abbreviations, such as MIL, I understand by the context of sentences the abbreviations are in. When I couldn't come up with anything for QOV, I decided to quit wondering and ask. ;)
