I saw in a recent edition of the New Zealand Quilter, how someone had darned and stitched the repairs, to preserve an old Red Cross blanket, and what a work of art it was! It was done so beautifully that the patches became the work of art!It was made useable again although I doubt if it was ever intended to be used. You could see the love and care that had gone into the repair, it was so moving.
