I seem to be the person everyone things about when it is time to "Give away" fabric from projects. I have only used cottons, and a few batiks for my quilts. I usually buy what I need at the time I need it, then stash what is left. Recently, a bag of goods came my way with many seersuckers, and dotted swiss. Do any of you ever use these in a quilt.? And what about home decor types. I don't know what to do twills, either. I would love any suggestions on a quilt with seersuckers. Thanks for your time.

I am watching as I recently was gifted some swiss dot that I want to do something with. Thanks for asking

It is a personal preference on combining fabrics in a quilt, or making one using nontraditional cottons.
I suggest prewashing and drying all of the fabric first, not only to shrink them, but also to see how well they launder :D:D:D

I have used cotton or cotton/poly blend seersucker in baby quilt tops, and
they turn out great. Very soft!

some of the home deco. type fabrics can be used for hand bags.

In our area some of the community service groups make things other than quilts and they will take other fabrics. You may want to pass them on to someone who will put them to good use.

I just gave some away and she is going to use it for clothline baskets if you feel that it is not good for quilts post as such there are some that do other crafts

I personally love quilts that not only have a variety of colors, but textures as well. Some of the most magnificant quilts have been made with Texture as the primary focus.
Victorian quilts had the combining of textures , silk with velvet etc.

I just made a baby quilt that had a mixture of everything you would see a little girl wearing in the summer. It worked fine.
