these fabrics. these are all the left overs from a quilt I made, the quilt had 30 colors only 28 of them shown here. They all started out as fat quarters, the pieces range in size from 12-14"x20-22 inches.
I was thinking of doing a siderweb quilt but I don't know if I have enough craps here or not! How do you figure how much fabric you need to make a quilt like that? I don't have a stash of scraps that I could add to this. I am normally really good at math and figuring out patterns and stuff that that well it just scares me! lol |
the pics are not heeeeere! wah!!
but the thing about doing something like a spiderweb is that you can do what you have now, set them aside, do some another time, set them aside and so on. as you get enough, do more and more. they'll accumulate. |

But I would use white instead of the maroon and I don't think I would put borders on it! and I think I would stagger the "webs" instead of having them line up! |
Pretty fabrics! According to my stash, I KNOW they grow and will reproduce! I think a spider web quilt is a type of string quilt that is kind of foundation pieced. It is a good way to use strippy scraps.

How about a "turning twenty" lap quilt?
|
i think the spider web is a perfect scrap quilt just because you can keeping adding blocks as you go along. if the center star is white, you can arrange the blocks later to balance the colors out.
show us as you go. |
