I recently purchased 200 5" pre cut fabric squares but am not sure what to quilt them into. I know I don't want to make a plain square block quilt but being a newbie to quilting I'm really not sure of what to do with them other then that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are they all the same color? You could add some other fabrics to what you have and make a varitey of blocks depending on who it's for and how big you want it. I guess we need more info.

Triangle, rectangles, squares can all be cut from 5inch squares, so there are lots of possibilities.

Sorry lol here is a picture of the 5 patches colour and patterns(didn't even think of taking a picture)The first colour is like a greyish teal blue then the flower pattern the middle is striped teal, taupe, burgandy and a lighter pink then a taupe square and a burgandy one. the teal and the taupe have a wavy pattern on them. As for the quilt being for someone I'm not sure yet maybe a get well gift for my mom when she goes in for knee surgery. Thanks so much for you help :)

Check out the book Nickle Quilts - alot of good patterns for 5" squares; there's also a Nickles II - I don't think as good as the first one.

There are two more nickel quilt books out since the first two - author Pat Speth - see amazon.com
