What do you accept for animal bedding?

I'm saving pieces that are too small to sew with and selvages to give away to those here who use scraps for animal bedding. I know cotton is ok but what else do you accept? I'm currently working on a fleece jacket for our dog and will have a bunch of fleece scraps when I'm done. Should I save them or chuck them?

Fleece is wonderful for bedding!

I've donated cottons, batting (both cotton and polyester) and t-shirt scraps to animal beddings.

I agree. I use cotton and fleece for my dog bedding. I don't like to use anything though.

Anything washable, but I don't use just threads as if the bedding opens the thread could harm the pet more than the scraps.

I never use scraps to make my pet's beds. I make my cat and dog beds with polyester batting (high loft) wrapped in cotton batting covered with fleece, flannel or cotton. My dog's job is to chew the corners of his homemade beds and pull out the batting. I spend a lot of time mending corners. I wonder what he would do if I made his beds round?

I thinkthat little scraps would make for a very lumpy bed, wouldn't they?

I use just about anything, fleece, scraps of batting, teeny tiny strips from squaring up blocks, etc.

irishgalfrom nj oh please, make a round one and let us know what your furbaby does.

my furbaby will only sleep on the couch, a 1foot pile of polar fleece or our bed with a 4'" memory foam top
