My sewing room
I call mine my studio as it serves as my office, sewing and scrapbooking room. It's multiple purpose.
My studio...it took over my two spare bedrooms...oh wait, then there's the ????Long arm room???? which USED to be my den...:)....I guess, in all fairness, I have my studio and my kitchen...and of course, a couple of bathrooms....and that's how I like it! :)
If I had a separate room for all my quilting stuff, there would probably be a "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on it, so that's probably what it would be called. :D
I share our master bedroom with my studio, but most of the time I call it the Studio. I'm in studio, which means I'm quilting and don't want to be disturbed. You'd think that my kids, now that they are grown and after I quilted most of their young lives, would know better than to bother me when I'm in studio, but somehow they've decided that when I'm there, it's a great time to visit me and chat. They also know that if I don't answer them, I'm deep into quilting, so they just sit there staring at me till I acknowledge they are still alive. LOL
ETA - my husband calls it "Your studio" as well. I trained him well. ;-) |
My Quilt Cave. AKA the basement.
Safe Haven
The SSP Room. Short for Sophie's Sewing Parlor.
My whole house is my "studio". My sewing room is the guest room. (When we need the bed we have to "find" it. All stuff on it goes onto the table for the duration.) I sew there or in the living room, (a lot) or in the kitchen, (on my 301). My laundry room has my big ironing board, and I also cut on the tall table in the kitchen. (perfect height) The only space left is two bathrooms. Nuff said!
My dear friend called her basement (Cristy's World)
Kitchen! Yes, I have a long low counter at one end of my kitchen that is just the right place for cutting, quilting and piecing. I have lots of natural light and room for my puss to observe my work in progress, arrange pieces as required and make comments as needed.
The studio. It's where I study, learn and practice my art.
I used to call mine my office before the fabric and machines took over. Then it was the sewing room until I started earning my living with my machines. Then I got fancy and it became my studio! ;) I'll admit that always sounded pretentious to me, but it struck the right tone for my customers.
Mine has been dubbed The Mom Cave and my daughter even made me a sign for the door!
The leave me alone room!!!
Living Room. I live alone so I can put anything I want. 2nd bedroom is called STORAGE !!! :)
well I call mine the kitchen, we have an eat in kitchen...and that is where mine is.
We used to call it the "front room" because it's in the front of the house and used to be the living room before we did some remodeling. DH has been know to call it the "woman cave". I'd rather call it the "studio" and sometimes do, but I don't think it's really big enough to really qualify as a studio, and not nearly as neat as I'd like a studio to be.
My grandaughter shares the room with me - she is into crafting and has her own desk and supplies. We now call it a craft room. And there is a bed - if we can find it - so it is also a guest room.
I call what ever comes to mind. Joe's (my youngest)old room. Singer Center. Quilt room, sewing room, craft room. Spare room. But everything in regards to sewing/crafts go on in that room. Also where I do my hair.
I call it my sewing room. My son said it was a mini museum since I also have shelves with my dolls, family pictures, mementos, etc. One time he called it a fire hazard. Must have been a real mess that day.

Quilting room? Quilt studio? Therapy room? Play room? Looking for a 'name' or call my quilting room. Looking forward to see what you call your room. Thanks! |
I call mine the dining room too, because it is.
Kitchen, dining room, living room!
I call mine the "Toy Room". Made a sign using wood blocks painted in various colors, attached to a board and then installed above the door to the quilting room. Have all my machines in one room.
sewing room
I call mine the Quilt Studio. It's the bigger of the spare bedrooms. All I know is it's way way too small and I'm rethinking space
office because its where my computer lives too
I only have a small sewing area in my bedroom now, however, if I still had my sewing room I'd call it "Sanctuary".

My children named the room. "The Padded Room" not because I have quilts hanging everywhere but because if you disturbe me when I am in the room I go balistic.
sewing studio ... makes it sound more 'artsy', cuz a lot of fabric postcards get created there
We call it my "creative room"
My quilting den.
