I wouldn't use it either. I always wash my fabric when it comes home. I find that being Ready to go, helps my creativity.

I always starch my fabrics before I start cutting them to size so if they're going to bleed, they'll do it then. Just the other day this happened to me on one red and one purple fabric. I took both of them to the sink and added hot water to the basin, soaked them separately with white vinegar as I think I read here that vinegar will set the color. Think also someone mentioned Dawn dish soap. Finally got both to stop bleeding, rinsed them good and then took them back to the starch bucket. No more bleeding. I always wash any quilt I'm going to give out to make sure there are no bleeders. Use one or two color catcher depending on the size quilt. I remember one quilt bled and I didn't catch it before putting it into the dryer. Thought for sure it was a lost cause but someone here again told me to throw it into the wash again with a color catcher. Sure enough the dye came out just fine so the quilt survived. I'm so thankful to all of you with the great tips.
