When someone asks for your pattern or another question? Do you PM them or do you post it in your thread? When I post an answer in the thread, someone else ends up asking the same question later on.

With the LATEST QUILTS I posted, the brown sampler quilt has had many compliments and inquires about it (Thank you, ALL of you) that I just posted in that thread the patterns I used - free from Quilterscache

It takes a little while to figure all this site has to offer. Thanks to the person who designed it. GREAT SITE. I don't even take anymore classes you all teach me for free.

I see so many patterns that are beautiful but rarely are they in a size I want to do. Is there a quick easy way to adjust the patterns to fit the size quilt you want to do?
|
I kind of make up my own way, rarely using the size in a pattern. I add or subtract blocks and make my borders narrower or wider to fit what I want to do. I don't think I have made 2 quits exactly the same size. Whatever works for you and your needs.

Thanxs Deb and Up North. I never would have found it on my own.
You people are just the best. Bev |
I got lost. Can I get a road map please?
If someone asks me a question in a post I normally answer it, ONCE, and then if someone else comes along and asks the same question I will refer them to my earlier post with the answer. I don't mind typing but I hate being repetitive! |

If I have a question, I will go back to the 1st post and re-read it. Usually my answer is there, if not, then I will ask if I see no one else asked it before me.

Upnorth---Cute!!! LOL! I know what you mean about the 1/4 in. I have a 1/4 in foot, but it isn't right on. If I am doing something for someone else, like a swap or group quilt, I use the featherweight, which has the same foot as mine. It has to be the needle position of mine and it doesn't move.
|
Most of you probably alread know this..................but for those that don't, here is a good way to measure a true 1/4 inch.
The lines on a Index Card are truely 1/4inch apart. I use this to line up my needle, and then put my painters tape down. Works great every time. Bev |
I answer in the post. I have seen where folks ask the same question, in fact I have been one of them. I sometimes do not read all the responses.
 |

On the very bottom of the index card is a small line that I usually cut off with a blade and a ruler. then put my needle on the line and my tape next to that.
So simple and easy. Bev |
Moonpi - I used to manage an instructional design team for a major corporation. My team was responsible for developing training materials to be used for the national segment of our organization. I have to say that if some of my instructional designers had written as clearly and simply as you have done in your tutorial, my job would have been a whole lot easier! Very well done!
