What is a J.R. pattern. I have two shoe boxes overflowing with 2-1/2 scraps that I would like to use

depending on the scraps I keep it all I want to do a postage stamp someday.

Mine are waiting patiently for inspiration!

I use them to make a quilt I found in American Quilter Magazine years ago called Mile A Minute Quilting. My guild has used it to make lots of charity quilts. I just made one for my grandson for Xmas. I don't have a pic yet but will try to get one soon. Very fast and easy.

I save them "as is" and cut them when I find a need.

I cut them: from 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2" squares and corresponding triangles, 3", 3 1/2", 4", 4 1/2", 5" and 6" squares.
Stored separately.
Sometimes, I just store as is in a large container for Carol Coski's Mile-a-Minute

I save selvage, torn with c. 1" of design showing - have a huge box full awaiting a pattern that appeals to me.

I cut anything smaller than a fat quarter down. I first do 10" squares, then 6.5", then 4.5" and 2.5" strips when possible. I keep them all in a box sorted by size. The leftovers I put in a scrap box for small pieces I may need for scrappy quilts. I try to use everything even the salvages. Love string blocks.

I keep them all - cut some, keep some as is. I just don't throw them away!

Save all my scraps, but once in a while one gets thrown out. I have mostly strips, have made a lot of quilts
using them. My churches quilting group always have strips left over and always ask me if I want them and
of course I say okay. Ha

So far I just have a large bin full of them - the scrap quilt would be a great idea - I have the hardest time doing that because I drive myself crazy trying to keep the pieces matched up by color - its hard to just pick up a scrap and sew it to another.

I sort mine by color somewhat and keep them in the pockets of an over-the-door hanging thing of shoe pockets. Larger scraps I fold and stack. I do not cut until I am actually using them for something.
