Okay - this is funny to me....and sad! Someone mentioned a catalog at Hancok of Paducah. I didn't realize they had catalogs so immediatly went to their webpage. Ordered the cat. Started snooping and found "FREE PATTERNS". WOW -- clicked on that -- 3 pages of "FREE" patterns for $1.98 each with $5.95 SHIPPING!!!!! FREE???????????????????????? Give me a break.

Are they free to download?
|
If you look closer, you will see you can download them for free. There is a download button and they are truly free. Don't panic.
|
I thought free was it doesn't cost anything lol

Everyone is talking about the catalog at Hancok of Paducah guess I will have to order one to see what it is all about. Sound fantastic

Beautiful fabric and great service. Always love just looking at their catalog.
|
I think the Hancocks of Paducah is the most beautiful fabric catalog ever published. I love it. I've even made art projects out of the fabric pictures.
Once you get on their mailing list, it comes free. And yes, I've had trouble finding the free patterns, but they are there! |
I've, also, been wondering what "free" means to others. Thanks for asking this question.
|
For those of you that are just now requesting a catalog, be aware that HoP does not ship 'prior' catalogs. If they have finished shipping issue 52 by the time you request one, you will likely not receive a catalog until issue 53 comes out in four to five months. Just so you know.
|
Ladies and gents- I used to get it a long time ago and it's more like a book!! lol
We are in for some good reading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D |

If you buy from them they send the catalog to you whenever they publish a new one. Just got my new one yesterday - beautiful as always. Going to check out the free patterns though. I have always had good luck ordering from them.

I'm going to go order my catalog right now. Thanks.
|
I ordered mine last night after I saw the other post. You can always go online and shop, but I like the catalogs for bedtime reading (sweet dreams!!) and travel entertainment :-D
|
does any one else like the Keepsake Quilting catalog? I always have one in the little library to read and look at pictures.
I am going to try the Hancock's too. |
At the Paducah quilt show, Hancocks has hundreds of boxes of catalogs opened for the taking at their front door. It's amazing to see that much disappear almost everyday. I take a box to bring to my guild. It is the best quilt catalog I've seen.

I receive the American Quilter Magazine published by AGS (American Quilter's Society)and I receive the Hancock of Paducah catalog. I have never purchased their catalog. I just assumed I get the catalog since I am a AGS member. It comes quarterly. They have very good customer service and I find fabric in their catalog that my local shop runs out of quickly.

What does FREE mean to me...........A vintage treadle sewing machine company!

Today, "free" means 400 Microsoft points.
Dead Rising 2 Case Zero reference. |
HEY I want free microsoft points! lol
Hancock's just chaps my cheaks anyways. Don't get me started. lol but yea those patterns are free you just gotta look at the FINE print. They could make that word FREE a little larger for people like myself who are sight challenged! lol |
Well, what can you expect? Our whole vocabulary is presently being redefined. There are mornings when I wake up wondering if I'm still speaking the language du jour well enough to make myself understood, or to keep from offending someone. <G>
Free? It was free looking. <G> Forget that site - there are plenty of others that don't feel obligated to depend on false advertising. |

Most companies that send out catalogs have no control over the process at all. It is subcontracted out to a totally unrelated catalog company. Keepsake Quilting's catalogs come from somewhere in the midwest, not here in New Hampshire, and the store hasn't a clue what the mailing list status is at any point in time. Don't know if HoP has the same arrangement, but it probably does. They are in the fabric business, not the catalog business, after all. |
