I can't wait to finish some other stuff and use this pattern!
Thanks for your notes! |

Hi gang... I guess I'm not reading that pattern the way everyone else is. The way I see it is:
A = 10.5 (c) + 2.5 (w) + 2.5 (c) = 15.5" across B = 2.5 (c) + 2.5 (w) + 8.5 (c) = 13.5" across C = 4.5 (c) + 2.5 (w) + 6.5 (c) = 13.5" across D = 6.5 (c) + 2.5 (w) + 4.5 (c) = 13.5" across E = 8.5 (c) + 2.5 (w) + 2.5 (c) = 13.5" across F = 10.5 (c) + 2.5 (w) + 2.5 (c) = 15.5" across (c = not white fabric) (w = white fabric) This is the order it was listed in and we all assumed that the white 2.5 squares go between the two cuts. It seems there are some problems with the dimensions. Maybe I don't get it?? |

Based on your notes, I came up with this:
By gosh, I think you've got it! Very cleverly deduced, Ms. Sherlock! Also, love this pattern! |

On the A and F rows, you've added an extra 2.5. They are each one 10.5" x 2.5" color strip and one 2.5" x 2.5" white square. In addition, you've forgotten to take the seam allowances into account. The block will finish at 12" (12.5" unfinished).
Thanks for for correcting me though... |
It threw me too.
I couldn't wrap my mind around it Treating it all as 2.5 strips was the only thing that made sense to me Maybe you guys can come up with something better. That was all I could manage (I flunked algebra...LOL!) |
DresiArnaz- That is what I came up with too!

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who can write down directions for a quilt block and then have no idea what it looks like. Hate when these Senior Moments gang up on me. LOL.
|
Me too. I have learned to doodle a (bad, no skill) picture of it on the same piece of paper, but at least I leave me a trail of crumbs to follow.....
