I have the largest collection of contemporary thimbles   and not one of them works for my underneath finger as I need the sensation (not the pain!) of the needle. For the sewing hand I ended up with roxannes for the finger and the ted storm for the thumb and that works great.

Because of my job (chiropodist) I have to have short fingernails so that is not an option either and in the video I could not figure out where the needle was.
I will go trough all the glue I have in the house

I am afraid I dont know the proper words in english. It is like pedicure involving scalpel, blood, pus, beeing able to take care of diabetic problems, making special bandages and so on. Have to work sometimes steril so no way of having fingernails long enough to push the needle with them. Tried it with the result that it slipped under the nail..............

What is a chiropodist? Sounds like chiro for the feet.

Read the label. You are looking for a product called cyanoacrylate. (sp?) Here in the states, it is sold as 'crazy glue'. Put a thin layer over your finger where it rubs and sit still touching NOTHING until it dries, or you will be very sorry. KEEP it away from your face until dry. Good Luck.

I think I know now what you mean. Its called sekundenkleber over here. Means sticks together within seconds. Pressing two fingers together with that stuff you would not be able to seperat
them anymore!?

I use a rubber finger on the left hand under the quilt, like the secretaries use.

just looked this up myself:

A chiropodist is more commonly known as a foot doctor. Chiropodist is the British English version of podiatrist, which is the American English version of “foot doctor.”

No walmarts in switzerland and also no way to get it without prescription.
But I sure had a good time imagine how the first quilter found out that it also helps for sore fingers.......................

I use a regular thimble on my under hand, a fairly slick one, with no ridge around the top. I push the needle down into it, and sort of flip it back up. No sore fingers... Just takes a bit of time getting used to the thimble.
