What a great deal
While in Yuma this winter I was at Walmart shortly after Xmas. All their Xmas flannel was $2.50 a yard. Just fianally got arount to washing it. I must say very little shrinkage & not too many snarls. I am pleased with the way it washed up. I bought 9 yards (lol), just don't quite know what to do with it. I never make xmas quilts. Do you think I can use it as backing on a regular quilt. I mostly always use flannel backs.

If you use it on a fall quilt you would have a two for one going on. But, what would be wrong with using it as a front and back for a throw?

I don't see why not. I think you got a good deal.

You can use flannel to make a chenille quilt. It takes about 5 layers so it would use it up quick.
Flannel makes a nice warm quilt back. I really starch it though as it tends to wrinkle more when FMQ. |
I bought a bunch of flannel after Christmas, too. the price I paid was really low, so I bought some to donate to my guilds, too. I agree, it washes up nicely.
Yes, by all means, use the flannel as a backing on a 'regular' quilt. |
I like using flannel as a backing, and yes you need to starch it well before FMQ.

Why not piece a Xmas quilt top and use the flannel as the backing???
