Yes, you have one of the great ones. This is something my husband would do.

All my husband does is ask where I got the money to buy fabric.

you sure do have a keeper. My BF will go through the fabric store with me, but he is no help at picking out anything and would never attempt it on his own. I'm kinda glad though....I always get to pick out what I like. :)
