When I attach my walking foot and begin quilting the needle often jumps to the left or right, in the midst of my sewing. Do you ever have that happen? What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help.

Does it think you're doing something other than a straight stitch?
Like a blind hem stitch, or a elongated zig zag?

Check your settings to make sure it's set for a straight stitch.

What kind of machine is it?

Are you sure you have the foot on correctly? Sounds like that could be the problem.

Are you moving the needle width switch? I keep doing this with my quilt top when I was stuffing my quilt under the foot. Broke many needles!!! Had to learn how to shut it off.

Might be the bobbin....Ive had that happen and it's either not treaded right from the top or something wrong with bobbin threading.

Thanks.....I'll check and make sure of the stitch and the way the foot is attached.....It is a PRW Brother 240.
