I knew I shouldn't have, but I did. I started machine quilting a quilt with cream coloured thread. Now, you have to understand, it was fine on the lighter side of the dark/light HST's. But, the problem was, my dark colour was a mottled, rusty red.
After the first row, of poseys and leaves, I didn't think it was looking very good.
So, I quilted another row. Duh. Dumb move.
So now I knew I didn't like it.
And spent the next 4 hours picking it out.
I've restitched the two rows, and a third one now with a dark beige verigated thread and it is sooooo much better.
Next time, I'll listen to my inside voice, when it says "don't do that!"

Always, always listen to the little voice in the back of your head! (Not that I don't ignore it on occasion, mind you.)

Sorry can't help you my voices fight each other and leave me more confused than before!!! :)

I am glad that you stopped when you did... and happy to hear you are liking it better now :D:D:D
I wish my "little voices" would scream louder sometimes right from the beginning

oh wow - i just did the same thing = used too dark of a pink and of course kept going - thinking it would start to look better even tho it didn't look good to begin with - spent hours ripping it out and starting over with a pale yellow that was totally right for it. yep - should have listened to that "voice" in my head!

Don't you worry, I'm a professional UNSEWER, I have always been good at it but this year I had to unsew an entire queen size quilt, that's right, the ENTIRE quilt! I had quilted it at my friends house using her brand new set-up, big mistake! Railroad tracks on the whole back. So being as this took many many hours to accomplish, I feel I have earned the title of "professional" maybe even doctorate!!!
