I like the Guterman thread for hand quilting the best...and also use the Thread Heaven...not that I hand quilt much anymore, but when I do, that is the easiest for me to work with.

Is it a bad idea to use machine thread for hand work? I tried the "hand quilting" threads (Gutermann's and Coat & Clark) for applique. They felt thick and knotted badly even with wax, also very hard to thread the needle. So I used my Gutermann's polyester machine thread. I've done small bits of hand quilting with it, too and it seems to be fine. Big project ahead so want to be aware of any problems!

Thanks!
