Me too. I guess the ones who have the automatic cutting thread don't need them. Never knew what they were called.

I HAVE A SMALL basket beside my machine and put all my little cut offs in there and use for leaders. I don't use an ender. I don't save the leaders when I am done.

Ditto, it is well worth the effort, and the thread tails are in the leader, works for me.

If you are working on a project and have another one ready for quick chain piecing, simply alternate the two different quilt blocks and you will have both projects completed with no down time using scrap leaders and enders...great concept if one can multi task sew...

How do you start to avoid that? and if you have a method, why bother with the leader? (or just to do another project at the same time?)

This is exactly what I was wondering. Thanks for asking the question.

Well, I went back and followed the link to Bonnie's tutorial and now I understand how it works. If I ever get organized and coordinated enough, I think I'll give it a try.

Luvtoquilt, your quilts are very pretty. I like the layout you used. I'm usually not drawn to scrap quilts, but I really like yours. I think it's that you've included a lot of white.
