Patty, I have pattern for picture #1 in one of my old magazines. I made it years ago.
I'll look for it if you still need it. Not sure about the 2nd one.

It looks like someone has taken old blocks in new settings. If you can't find those exact patterns you can look for the blocks at quilterscache/quiltblocksgalore on the net and make your own.

The blocks in the 1rst is snail's trail http://jantspatchworkschool.com/blog...il-quilts.html

The top one is very similar (but not identical) to a Judy Martin pattern called Star Reel in her book Scrap Quilts. Here's a version I made several years ago -

It looks like the pictures were taken in a Quilt Shop - can you contact them and find out? I am guessing that both may be from a Judy Martin book.

Yep, the first one is Snails Trail set on point, have no idea about the second one but they both are very pretty

Love that first one! Gorgeous! Really an eye catcher!

Oh my those are beautiful quilts!! I like the big pieced borders, and the inner part on point, gives a whole new look to the quilts.

QuiltNama 11-07-2013 02:46 PM

The 2nd one uses John Flynn's striped border on the outside and the inside stars look like twisted stars (not sure). I have never seen a pattern for this quilt, just the book for the outside borders. Hope this helps.

this is close to the 2nd one http://www.shopfonsandporter.com/pro...ttern/patterns . it's kind of a labyrinth design.

hpbandy 11-07-2013 05:18 PM

That would be great if you could find it, I would really appreciate it.... Thanks

Jingle 11-08-2013 12:42 PM

I like the second better. Think I've seen that one before. No way I could remember where.

twinkie 11-09-2013 03:57 AM

Very pretty. Wish I could help you.

Amythyst02 11-09-2013 03:59 AM

love them both!!

Dodie 11-09-2013 05:04 AM

not sure if it is the same one but sure looks like a John Flynn braided border class that I took years ago

maviskw 11-09-2013 06:26 AM

The second one is sometimes called a Labyrinth, and I've heard it called Interlocking Squares. I made one a few months ago.

tessagin 11-09-2013 06:37 AM

Really pretty!

mjhaess 11-09-2013 07:02 AM

They are beautiful. The first one looks like a Snails Trail. Not sure about the second.

rakerlm 11-09-2013 07:05 AM

Love the border on the 2nd one!

Here is the pattern for the square "frames" the rest of the block(2nd photo) you'll be able to construct using HSRs and a star pattern. I do have the exact pattern for the 2nd photo, I'll be back if I find it.

These books have the pattern for your 2nd photo. I got mine from Martingales in E-book form

hevemi 11-09-2013 11:41 AM

I also found the general piecing instructions, this is for templates but those are easy to measure and cut:
