What is name of this pattern?

A friend of mine wants to know the name of this quilt that his Great Aunt made for him.

i think it's called Rail Fence. You can see that each block is made up of four strips of fabric, and the rows are one block vertical and the next horizontal.

Yes, rail fence, but his aunt gave it a very modern vibe by using very wide strips, and repeating the medium green in strips 2 and 4 so that the bold gold seems to float. Very nice!

Isn't it amazing how different the same pattern looks by the choice of color of the fabric. I think that's one of the reasons I love quilting - it's seeing all those different colors!

Yes I agree. Never have seen that variation done with the Rail Fence pattern. NEAT !!
