I llike tying down quilts, but my hands have gotten so gnarly that it is literally painful to even think about tying. I am doing one now and boy hot water feels so good on the hands. I love everything else.
My very favorite is designing a quilt for a particular person, picking out the fabric (which I have plenty of, thank you) and watching it turn into exactly what I thought it would look like. I call the binding my bonding. And that last stitch is like I am giving my baby away. Edie |
For me, it's the backing. I've seen so many neat looking backings from members, but my mind freezes up at the thought of trying to do the same. I even have a hard time just loading a one piece backing, I'm so paranoid about not getting it on straight.

Sandwiching! Now that I discovered the joy of Elmer's school glue, I use it for small projects...table runners, baby quilts and wall hangings, but I still struggle with large quilts. Hate it so much that I would probably pay someone to do it for me!

I hate the basting. So time consuming and hard on the back and knees if you do it on the floor. I love the fabric! Picking it out, cutting it, touching it....

I find it challenging to pick out fabrics and colors. I get overwhelmed every time.

I enjoy every phase of the process. Wait I take that back I hate ripping out seams. But every thing else is still fun for me.

I do my own FMG on my domestic and getting the top, batting and back basted is the least favorite for me. The smaller quilt projects not so much but when they get to be queen size and larger, you need space to do this. It still is the most satisfying part of quilting when I get it done though and I can take credit for the whole project. Just my thoughts.

I love all of it but the sandwiching.

Me, too! I hate borders and making the backing.
