wow, I have to say, getting all my other chores done so I can get to quilting, any phase of it. I love all the steps of putting a quilt together, just not the other family chores.

Binding. Ug. I had one quilt sitting around for 5 years because I hate binding.
|
the binding! I tried faster methods but I do like the look of a hand sewn binding so I am stuck!

Sandwiching and pin basting. My last three quilts all have crooked backs. This is a new thing and I haven't determined what I have changed in my sandwhiching process.

That happens at my house also, even though the breakers are split up for each area of the house.

I don't know that any one part stands out for me, although I get irritated when I have to turn off the heat to turn on the iron because it trips the circuit breakers. It's like Green Acres here.

I agree with AngelinaMaria that joining the finished blocks, adding borders etc. can be difficult on large quilts. I also hate ironing seams at that phase. It can be horrid when you are trying to plan for seams to interlock. I invariably get them going the same direction. I also find it frustrating to do a technique that you infrequently use. I'm kind of disorganized about finding directions and so on.

I enjoy pretty much every part, even cleaning up at the end, but I really do not like the actual quilting. I bought a long arm, thinking that would help, but it intimidates me so I just use groovy boards and call it okay.

Dislike trimming and sewing one side of binding to quilt! Hand binding the other side is okay.
|
I dislike crawling on the floor to pin/baste a bed size quilt, and trying to stuff it into my DSM to quilt it. So, this year QAYG is my priority.
|
I dislike having to put it away so I can clean my house or cook a meal. LOL
