What pattern do you suggest for 15 fat quarters?
I am going to a quilt retreat in April and looking for something I can do while I am there. I have 15 fat quarters from different lines but all the same color range of yellow, black and white designs. I have had them for a couple of years and decided that I need to do something with them. Looked at images and am drawing a blank. Wondering if there is a free pattern for yellow brick road and if these would work for that pattern. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I have made quilts for several years but still consider myself a beginner. However, I am getting better at matching corners. ;) Thanks in advance for any ideas you can give me. Sharon

I like the yellow brick road, but cannot recall how many fat quarters it takes. turning twenty takes 20, maybe add some green or purple to the three colors you have.

Yellow Brick Road is not a free pattern. When you purchase one, you will find it is a good one to have. It gives the directions for several different sizes. It's fast and easy. Yes, your FQ's will look great in this pattern.

Thank you Suzanne, I will try and find the pattern. I don't have much success looking for specific tutorials on Missouri Star site. Haven't figured out how to search for specific patterns. I may have the turning twenty pattern and will look for some fabrics to add. I am not able to send pictures. My ipad doesn't always like to send them tho it may be the operator. If you have a link for the turning 20 I'd appreciate your sharing it. Sharon

Maryb119 Well now that explains why I can't find a free pattern for yellow brick road. Will pick one up when I find it. Thank you for answering my questions. I am not very good finding patterns on the computer so thought it was me. Sharon

Fat quarter fizz calls for 10 light and 10 dark fat quarters if you have a few more laying around.

Yellow Brick Road is a *great* pattern--for scraps, for fat quarters, for doing a fairly quick quilt that is very interesting to look at. I think it is one of the best patterns I have ever bought, for the ideas, for the versatility of it. And, I think you could use your 15 fat quarters (I don't know how many blocks that would make); but if you have 5 light fabrics, 5 medium, and 5 darker ones; or 5 large print, 5 medium print, 5 small print; or that the 15 fat quarters are balanced in some fashion; then you should have an interesting and successful quilt. Janedee, would you send a link for the yellow brick road free pattern. I put it in and get lots of hits but have trouble finding a free one. Thanks.

Thanks nuffsaid! I do have some extra ones I could add or will buy some. Still need the pattern but will need to send for it or get to a shop. I am not opposed to buying it but thought maybe it was on line. I have some quilt magazines and books and will look through them. Sharon
