I have been collecting dog fabric....I'm a huge dog lover...but really don't have a specific pattern in mind. It will have to be REALLY easy for me. I was thinking maybe a Warm Wishes. What do you think?

You could do "Yellow Brick Road".

The leash fabric would make cute borders :D:D:D

Those fabrics are so dog gone cute! I was thinking a D9P would be great!

What cute fabric! I bet many patterns would be great. I'd be interested to hear what you decide to do.

Every place I go, I look for dog fabrics. I got some in Oregon, some in Ohio, and some in places in between. I usually buy about 1/2 yard to 1 yard of each, so I hope I have enough for a throw/ lap quilt. I've made quilts for others, so I thought I would make one for myself. Hope it turns out! Thanks for your input!

D9P does look easy enough for me...and I like the results. That sounds like a good possibility.

Is that a German Shorhair? I didn't even look at your avator until now, I was busy looking at all your fabrics! We have one too and her name is Whiskey. I made her a dog bed out of dog bone fabric. She loves it! What is your dogs name?

Love your fabrics! Good luck!

Yes, that's our GSP and her name is Addie. She is a great dog....but has sooooo much energy! She's only 1 1/2 yrs old, so she still has a lot of that puppy energy. We run her outside a lot, throwing a "dummy", try to walk her. At this very moment, she is curled up in my lap, so I must have worn her out enough today. We had another GSP, but she had liver problems and we lost her. So sad. So we had to go out and get another one. I could go on and on, but that's why I'm such a dog lover.

I think a basket weave with the blues and browns would be super cute. I found a larger scale pattern at a Project Linus website: http://www.projectlinus.info/basketweave.pdf
Good luck and have a dog-gone good time on your project :)

If you want to use all the different designs, Magic Tiles is great because there is leading (sashing) between each fabric and you don't have to be concerned about each fabric matching it's neighbour.

I have the same thing with more cat material than dog material. I will be watching what you do and the suggestions you get :) How bout a pic of wip when you decide? I really need to get started on using those fabrics up also. :)

almostfree 01-17-2011 07:36 PM

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! It's been so fun getting to know the different patterns. I will post a pic once I get started! Have to finish a baby quilt now, but this is my next project.

A snowball quilt would show off the fabric well.

Jim 01-17-2011 11:28 PM

why not a rail fence...seems fitting...all the fabrics look great

raedar63 01-18-2011 12:25 AM

What about one of the I spy patterns, I like the one that looks like stars when completed, the star points are made of the same fabric and the centers are diffrent. I don'r recall the name but if you are interested I am sure someone on here can help.

Lovely fabric. Good luck with choosing the pattern. Soooo many choices. My brain would boil!

Chantel41 01-18-2011 09:39 AM

I just finished a cat quilt, using cat material, and I used a variation of a four patch, with paw-print material around the border. Will post a pic when quilted. (If I manage to! lol)
