I am working on an Irish Chain for my best friend's oldest granddaughter. In the middle of the big blocks I am adding a block that I found called the Ohio Rose. Lexie was born and has lived her entire live in Ohio. I thought this was appropriate. I found it in the magazine 100 Quilt Blocks. You can probably use just about anything in the middle. I really like the idea of having the quilting the 'star' of the block. Maybe next time.

Can you share that pattern with me? Alyssa was born and lived most of her life in ohio too that would fit!
