What is the Quilt Pattern name?????
 

Why don't members post the pattern name when posting pictures of their beautiful finished quilts? I see so many beautiful quilts that members have finished, but they don't include the pattern name. They title their posting..I finally finished my quilt.... my eight year quilt... never thought I'd get through....and many other descriptive names that mean something to them but don't help the rest of us who would love to attempt the same pattern. I have had to pm several members to find out the name, when it would be so easy just to post it to begin with. I wish this could be a suggested guideline when posting the pics.

Until then, I love all the quilts - scrappy, artsy, mixed blocks - all of them! Keep the great pics coming. I just wish I had the experience & the ability to do all that you guys & gals do. I will get there one of these days!

This was suggested before some time ago but with so many people joining the board the suggestion just gets buried among the thousands and thousands of posts. We need a reminder. Maybe now that you brought it up it will happen again until the next wave of newcomers :) I appreciate knowing what a pattern is because I have no color sense and I may have seen that pattern but didn't like it but when I see it in another colorway, I love it! I don't know how many times someone showed a pattern from a magazine like Quilters World that I didn't even recognize because it was done in better colors.

lately every time i finish a quilt i put the patter name and the fabrics because it does help people espically new ones to quilting it give an idea of what can be done with fabrics and mixing.

I do try to include this information because I'd like to know it when I look at pictures, too. However, sometimes I feel that my post is wordy and uninteresting as a result. So.... knowing that someone really does want that information I'll keep doing it!

Okay - so maybe I'm putting TOO much information? I read posts where people apologize for being long ....

I would like the information. So many times they will say, " Look at my quilt". OKay we looked and then there will be quiestions from viewers and never an answer comes.

With word of mouth, or type, maybe more will do just that. Usually I read the description, but I saw a post yesterday and skipped over it, figuring that I didn't have time to read all that at that moment. Absolutely LOVED the quilt. Read through three pages to see if I could find the name and wouldn't you know, the original poster actually DID have the name right in the description!

Also keep in mind that sometimes, the quilt pattern might not have a name. I use a software program to design a lot of my quilts. While the blocks in the pattern have names, the finished quilt is my own concoction. If I give it a name, it still wouldn't help out.

I wish the same, I sometimes dont have time to be coming back to the post to keep cking to see if the pattern info has been posted. Sometimes the post has numerous people asking for the pattern name or fabric information and it takes alot of time to weed through the post ....

I often see where the quiltmaker says "Pattern designed using EQ6" or something similar. This gives us a heads up that we can't buy it, but maybe you would share. I was just allowing my frustration of reading 11 pages with 3 requests for the pattern name & never seeing it. I much prefer too much information rather than not enough. Even if it is only an statement that the quilt is a combination of 2 or 3 different traditional blocks. I can figure it out if I'm given "any" information. fyi....I am trying to learn EQ7. I don't think my mind wants to learn any new computer programs. :)
