I just saw the movie tonight and they had a quilt in the movie that was a really neat pattern, but they only showed flashes of it. Has anyone else seen the movie and maybe know what the quilt pattern is ? Thanks for your help.

Sorry I cant help, I want to see the movie but have not had the chance yet. I watched the trailer and it didnt show a quilt.
|
Sorry, I don't know either but
I am anxious to see this movie hopefully soon!! :D :D :D :D |
I haven't see it but hope to soon. Maybe we should begin giving movies a Quilt Rating? May in Jersey
|
Haven't seen it yet. Sorry
|
Well, I saw the movie. But don't remember the quilt being in it. Has been over a month since I saw it. Usually I nap in movies but made it through this one without falling asleep :D . So can't use that as an excuse for not remembering the quilt. Hope someone on the board that has seen it can remember.

Looks like a funny movie, only a quick flash of a quilt in that trailer though, scroll down the page to find The Proposal & then more details.

It was called the "Babymaker Quilt" in the movie. Betty white kept throwing it to them. I only saw one closeup of the quilt when the actor was laying on the floor on top of it. It was spread out. It looked to me to be made mostly of strips of different fabrics. I noticed Octagon shape blocks. There were numerous strips all lined up in the shape of a Octagon block; maybe 2 inch strips... But, I haven't found a strip pattern that looks like that..

I found a clip of the movie that shows the quilt VERY briefly.
I saw a Bear Paw in it, that's about all I saw. |
I made a mistake from my previous reply. I think it was about 12 to 16 inch blocks. Each square block had a (8 side) stop sign shaped in strips. I previously said it was Octagon..But, maybe Hexagon. LOL Anyways, I noticed each side of the Hexagon/octagon??, was about a 2 in strip to fit the length of the side. Therefore, it started with 8 sides. Strips kept forming in this shape. I also noticed that the border of the quilt had bear claws on solid fabric. It's hard to describe and I can't find anything that looks like it.

This is a first for me ~~ I have to watch a movie to look for a quilt :)

I see quilts in movies all the time now! It's almost freaky how many artistic directors and set designers include them!
|
could it have been cheater fabric?
|
Watching the movie now and paused it. It's a pineapple block like this one:
http://www.instructables.com/id/Pine...Quilt-Pattern/ The quilt in the movie appears to be more of a scrapbag quilt. |
I own the movie. I know which part you're talking about. I'll pop it in and try to get a photo for the group.

And a view of Ryan Reynnolds laying on it. |
How funny! I just watched this movie again this afternoon. I was busy sewing while it was playing so although I saw the "babymaker" quilt, I did not pay much attention to it. Thanks, HillaryK8, for the frame of it. I will have to go back and watch more closely.

Welcome! Now I'm watching it while I sew. I JUST TRIED PAPER PIECING FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!
|
I guess I have to see the movie now!!
|

It's the pineapple quilt pattern.
|
It seems like it was a variation of a pineapple!! great movie!

Watch the old Disney movie So Dear to my Heart. Great quilts in that one, they call them quivers. Old Granny thinks her quilts are not for the public to gape at. Great movie for the whole family. Beryl Ives sings Lavender Blue in it. The goat scene is hilarious!
