Still wonder how some stores can sell any sized "quilt" for under $100.

Many of the storebought type quilts are one piece top and bottom fabric, not pieced. More of a printed wholecloth with large stiching to say it's quilted. They also use the cheap craft loft batting.

Rettie, are you saying to use the store bought quilt as a batting? That's not a bad idea, especially when you occasionally find them any size, $20.00.
