Sound like a good plan to me!

Its now your quilt, take the back off, be happy!

I received several quilt tops some partially quilted the quilting was not good at all. the back had lots of bunched fabric I am glad I did it because now I can make them mine. Even though the tops is finished the FMQ will be mine.

Sounds good to me. Go for it.

Sounds like a good plan. Maybe it never got finished because of the stain.

I think you have a great plan and should go for it!

I sure second that idea. I love the 30's era quilts. I think it would be a good one for you to try hand quilting after you get the backing off.

I say go ahead and take the hand quilting out , change out the backing and then have it quilted how ever makes you happy. Please post pics when you can.

I agree. Take out the hand quilting and give that beautiful quilt a new lease on life.
