I have never used precut fabric. I just bid on a jelly roll on EBay and would like at least one charm pack, too. I know I don't want very small squares - the quilt I am finishing cured me of that for a while, but I haven't quilted in quite a few years and patterns and fabrics have changed. What's a popular size? I'm thinking 4" and 6". Any thoughts.
If I win and the fabric is decent, I'll let you know more about the seller. Edit: the jelly roll is mine. In the $8 range, plus $3.50 in shipping. If I buy a charm pack now, the shipping will be $2. |
The charm packs by Moda are 5 inch square. I think a lot of patterns that call for charms use the 5 inch.

I agree with Sherri - most are 5".

I buy lots of fabric on ebay. My charms are all 5 inch squares.

I bought a lot of 4 inch charms on ebay but they weren't a particular line. They were just packaged by color and hand cut by the seller. I'm using them for scrappy 4-patch quilts. I don't mind the 4 inch charnms but think I'll go with 5 inch if I ever do another collection.

I think the 5in is better too.

One jelly roll and one pack 5" charms are purchased, plus some 4" ones I bid on before I asked y'all. I'll let you know about the quality at that price.
It's a strange feeling letting someone else choose my fabrics as I am a control freak. Thank you for your input. Judy |
Judy, 4 inch are fine also. That's probably the smallest I would go but that's just me.
I've gotten some nice stuff like that on ebay too. I hope you post pics when you get them. I really like pre-cuts and never thought I would! :D |
I buy my charm packs at KeepsakeQuilting.com
They have quite a variety and it's very good fabric. |
My charms and a jelly roll came today. They seem be reasonable fabrics in lovely patterns.
This is exciting. As a control freak, it will an adventure to sew something for which I didn't choose the fabric. I need to go work on my duck quilt so I can start with one of these. Luckily, it will go quickly. |
