I usually buy at least a half yard at a time. I'm a fabric junkie. But I did have a boo boo and needed a 9 1/2 inch strip and they did it no problem.

Ours will cut 1/8 yard, 41/2 ', about 10 cm.

I have never really asked, I have been buying over a yard each time.
