What a Surprise

Above is a link to my surprise. I am so Excited !!!!! My husband just ordered my this Centennial Featherweight for my birthday, which isn't until mid April. I was completely surprised, all I had done was mention them whenever someone on here got one. And it looks like he bought the best he could find. Every attachment, hand made covers, a personalized cover for it. It should be here mid week. Bernie (my Bernina) just went to the sewing machine hospital for for tension issues, and bobbin case adjustments or replacement and she won't be back until late next week if then. (Backlog at the hospital) . I plan to clean and re-arrange my sewing room to make the perfect spot for "Maggie" My husband had a grandmother named Maggie, who was an avid quilter, and I had a great grandmother named Maggie, thus the name. Woo Hoo!!!! |
Wow, that is beautiful, and all those accessories, lucky you!.
I do have a featherweight just like that, but very few accessories came with mine. I do my everyday piecing with mine, it has such a lovely stitch and easy to keep a straight seam line. I got a kick out of that quilt book that came with it, I bought that book when I first started quilting many years ago. Enjoy your machine |
Congrats on your new baby. Enjoy and show us some pics real soon.

What a wonderful surprise and a fabulous DH. Have fun.

Wooo Hoooo!!! It's a beauty! You are going to love it!!!!!!!
I highly recommend Dave McCallum's book, "The Featherweight 221 and I". It's easy to read, very informative and wonderful drawings....much better than the pictures in the old manuals. |
Very nice, he is a keeper. Happy Birthday
|
My dh (with my sister's help) got one for me for Christmas. I love it. Inside the case was a manila folder with the paperwork for the loan the original owner took out to buy it. It was $153. and some change. She put $53 down and paid $6.95 a month! But what really tickled me was that even though she signed all the paperwork herself, it was Mrs. John Doe...husband's name, never her first name. I don't know that I've ever signed anything Mrs. Tom ... using my husband's name. But her last name was Berda, so I think that is what I will name mine. Berda.

I have a birthday coming up....soon? well September but if he wanted to get me one early, I'd be OK with that...just sayin'....
