I am making a bow tuck purse and it calls for Pellon fusible fieece I really dont know what this is and where do I look for it ? Is it like fusible that you use for applique? Can you tell that I am not an seasoned quilter? :XD:

Fusible fleece is sort of like batting only not.

It's like batting with a fusible side. I have used it but the last purse I made I used warm and natural and it came out fine. It even stands up by itself.

You can get it at JoAnn. Good luck with it. I have had problems with it fusing to the fabric. I don't know if others have had that problem. I think the next tote I make, I will use regular batting. :)

It's usually where the interfacings are.

I think it's called Pellon 987. As others said, it's a light weight batting with one side fusible. I liked it really well in the mini bow tucks I made.

Have fun!

Thanks everyone for the answers, I was wondering if I could use plan batting and it sounds like I can! Thanks again for your responses!

It is a batting/fleece - they sell it a Joanns Fabric

Yes, you can use plain batting inside. I use regular batting in mine. They turn out fine. :)

I have had the same problem. If you read the instructions on the wrapper it says to wash the fabric w/o fabric softener first so it will fuse. now i don't wash my purse fabric but with some effort i can get it to stick. It helps not to move the piece too much until it cools.
