I don't know, but it looks like a nice machine, in good condition!

Many things can be said about the Singer Sewing Machine Company but my experience is that they support their products way back to the first sewing machine Eve ever owned. Granted, parts for the really old ones get a little thin on the ground but.... So, I suggest you get on the Internet look up the sewing machine company and either give them a call or email them and find out where their parts and service centers are located. Give them a call or email; tell them the pieces you looking for and for what machine; and they will have your order in your hands in just about a work week.

If you really get stuck, the ladies and gentlemen in the vintage area of this site are absolutely wizards at finding bits and pieces so you might try them. Good luck and please let us know how it turns out.

Thanks,

Pat

I have a 237, her name is "Mabel", she is a wonderful machine, makes beautiful stitches and purrs like a kitten! Never gives me any trouble, she is such a joy, always smiling at me when I go to my sewing room. She comes with a story. I paid $2.50 for her back in the early 90's. That was when you couldn't hardly give these machines away, actually she was givin to me. A man was asking $5.00 for two old machines at a yardsale, he was loading all the unsold junk to go to the dump. He insisted that I take the machines, then I forced him to take the $5.00. Since then I have divorced, remarried, moved at least ten times, all the while dragging these two machines with me as I go, sometimes cussing as I did so! All of these years I had never even taken the top covers off of these machines. Then about 4 years ago, I needed a motor for my serger. I took the cover from Mabel and it was love at first sight! I never did anything just put a piece of fabric under her to see if she would sew and she's been sewing ever since. Your 237 is truly worth saving and will make you a great backup machine.

Thanks mawluv. I already love her. I paid 25$ for her. Husband just looks at me. ha. I have a son that jumps on it to see what it needs and gets on the internet to find the parts.

Enjoy the hunt! She looks good and should make you or someone a good machine when you have finished with her.

I have this machine.. It is a workhorse. You will need to purchase the plates for the zig zag. Also - winding the bobbin is on the top of the machine, so make sure you wind quite a few before you get into any extended sewing.

I bought my 237 at a yard sale for $3 put in a sewing cabinet--I use it more than any of my other sewing machines. Great for sewing heavy duty and the stitch is perfect.

My DH says it is powered by CAMS; which is different from today. It should work fine.

I inherited an older kenmore. All I have to do is turn the plate for the feed dogs around. Look and see if there is a wider opening on the other end of it and see if you can change it. Plus there are a few sights that sell older machine manuals. That is what I did to know how best to care for my machine.K
