I use thread from Connecting Threads and love it,as I love it for piecing and sewing but I don't really like it for quilting. I just got done quilting a table topper and I really dislike how it turned out . What thread do you use for machine quilting your projects? Thanks in advance!

I like Bottom Line from Superior for both the top and bottom.

It depends on the quilt and quilting pattern and the look I want.

If I want just a "shadow" for the pattern I use Maxi-Lock, Bottom Line, So Fine, or embroidery threads.

If I want definate stitch definition I will use Star, Signature or King Tut.

I'm an Aurifil girl. It's a thinner thread, so the quilting blends in more, which I like. Plus I looooooove that it fits more on a bobbin (and more on the total spool) so there's less changing of the bobbin

Superior threads for me - have used King Tut and Bottom Line, and their metallic is so easy to use.

I used King Tut on my last quilt and I managed to go through a new spool plus part of a 2nd one on one quilt... I was doing somewhat heavy quilting, but that still seemed like I ran out too quickly, vs the Aurifil

I dont use King Tut for heavy quilting, but they are 500 yd spools. Also I always have Bottom Line in the bobbin.

I tend to use Gutterman 100% cotton, only because I can get it at my local JoAnn Fabrics. I does well for me with very little lint build up and no breakage. I usually buy the larger spools. I've used it both on top and in the bobbin together and used it in the bobbin only with YLI invisible thread on the top. No problems with either configuration.

I love to use varigateds on the top of my quilts. I have used a lot of YLI, Some Gutterman, some King Tut, some Valdani, I try to find a decent quality thread in colors I use a lot.

I use Gutterman or Mettler Silk Finish for the top and Bottom Line for the back and it works wonderfully.
