I just printed out a pattern and it calls for cream tonal, tan tonal and light blue tonal. What is tonal?

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm new to quilting and haven't heard of this yet.

aka:
Tone on Tone fabric. Blender.

Like a Moda Marble, or Andover Dimple, of MM Krystal fabrics.

It reads as a solid because it has variations of the same color, but it doesn't really have pattern, or other colors, on it. The texture patterns give it some interest. It won't read as flat as a Kona solid.

I LOVE them!

Here's just a quick example (cause I'm lazy) from eQuitler.com, but they have an enormous BLENDER category:

Tone on tone, blenders, are all about the same thing. Fabric that is the same color, but the print is different shades or tones :D:D:D
