After reading the favorite thread responses, I went to Joann's today and got some Gutermann thread. I got 100% cotton. Did I get the right one?

Thanks!

I use Gutermann cotton thread for all my piecing, and FMQ on my Bernina.

Okay, good! There were several different types, but I just grabbed 3 of the small spools of 100% cotton and hoped for the best!

Thanks for you reply!

I use this a lot of the time. What weight did you get for piecing?

I don't know...it didn't say on the display or the spool. Bad, I know.

It will tell you the weight on the side of the spool. It should say Ne 50 or another weight. I use 50 for piecing.

as long as when you do a (tug-test) and the thread does not break you can use it for piecing- it does not have to be any particular kind of thread- many people piece with poly threads, or poly blends ---some peice with cotton thread-
i prefer silk- but that's me-
rayon is another option- there are many threads out there
get what is strong- the color is what you want and the weight is what you want.
