A friend of mine has made a lovely attic window cat & mouse quilt. The cats are the backing & that's why you can't see them. She is looking for suggestions of how to quilt it. Wether a STID, meandering or something that will complement the quilt but not overwhelm it. (I hope that makes sense). Any suggestions that I could pass on to her would be greatly welcomed. I hope that she doesn't mind but I am posting the picture of the top that she sent to me. Again thanks to all.

what does the back look like? Could you load it upside down and do an outline stitch on the cats? You might be able to see the cat outline on the front with a contrasting thread.

That is really a cute idea.

I have not seen the fabric in person, but I'm guessing that the cats are only about 4-6 tall. So I'm thinking that stitching around them would not work for the front, but here is what is going on the back.

I might try stitching grain lines in the window frames, and then free motion a cat sitting in each window (maybe a few different poses).
