I also use this type of chair BUT I remove the arms as I find they get in the way. I also use a good folding chair with a high back.

A comfortable office chair with good support.

thought I needed (wanted) a saddle chair, bought an adjustable one and can only sit on it a few hours till my back starts hurting. Now it sits all alone with no one to use it catching dust. No saddle for me.

I have tried two different drafter's chair and because I'm short I find them hard to get onto...they scoot out from underneath me and I've nearly fell on my "teakettle" a number of times. I use an office chair but I get up and walk to my ironing and cutting stations. Not efficient, but it makes me change my position and move more. (I'm sitting on a non-wheeled kitchen stool as I write this and I'm wondering if this would work to make my sewing more ergonomic.)

LOL. I get it.

I use an office chair with rollers & no arms. I had one with arms once but they just got in my way. My chair has height adjustment. I like it a lot. I never thought about a stool....I never lean back while sewing.

CarolinePaj, who make your chair?

What about a stability ball? http://www.livestrong.com/article/28...tability-ball/

I use very nice rolling office chair that my son found in the junk pile at work. The mesh was torn in the back, so I repaired it and then made a cover to slip over the back which matched the seat fabric. I removed the arms for comfort. I love it as it is adjustable.

I wouldn't want to use that at my machine, though, as it rolls way too easily. Also, I often lean back in the chair at the machine to stretch my back. I'd probably forget I was on the stool and go tail over teakettle. Then I WOULD be sitting on Daisy Dog.

This looks like a very nice, comfy chair! Can I ask where you got this?? I really need one! Thanks! :)

Bernina adjustable rolling chair.

Old secretary chair that needs to be replaced with a mesh back "supporter".

I use an office chair from Office depot because I could adjust the arms, the back and all that stuff but what I've noticed is that the hard wheels are very wearing on my hardwood floor in my sewing room. In fact, they are wearing it out! I don't do any of the adjusting stuff. I've got to find a better solution. Do they make rubber wheels that don't wear out the floor? What do I do? I'm not a dainty little fairy thing. I'm serious! I need expert advice.

An office chair with no arms. It can adjust up and down. I used to lecture on ergonomics. It isn't perfect but its pretty good.

I use an adjustable office padded chair.
