The corners I personally would go with the purple marbled(?) print already in the quilt. Then, I would use the outer green fabric you have laid out and the lighter purple. Sorry, can't help with your questions, but have to say that whatever you finally decide, it will be a beautiful quilt. You also have a cute assistant.

I LOVE your quilt,! I can't decide which way to do your borders either, but it will be amazing either way. Your kitty looks just like my DD's Harley. She is this little short-legged, round bellied little sweetie and looks like yours.
