I can't find my pattern -- might have deleted after I made a mylar template (then had the hardware made one out of plexi for me --- I make a LOT of these for gifts and fundraisers). here's a link to a free one --- this uses a button, I made mine with velcro. My suggestion is to hound the thrift stores, if any of them carry fabric or buy cotton shirts and go scrappy. I have found lots of yardage for next to nothing, and fleece throws that I use for the backing, and a few times, even batting. Or use flannel for batting and a sheet for backing. Getting all of this at a thrift store would keep your cost below $25. Good luck. Be sure to post what you decide on.

How about a log caarrier?

Why don't you make a quilt out of your scraps...no cost for material...join up the leftover batting.... use whatever thread you have at hand.... donate your time.... have a go at quilting yourself...the back can also be made from your scraps. Surely a man would love a scrappy quilt...use some generic scraps.

I don't know if anyone else has already suggested this, but how about a heat bag filled with wheat & lavender. You are headding into cooler weather now and these are great to warm your feet in bed with or to use on sore, tired muscles.

If you do your own quilting, you should be able to do a lap quilt for under $25.00. If you did it in bold colors, it would work for men or women.

How about a Tater Bag? You can microwave potatoes or corn in them...makes them yummy! Just Google "microwave potato bag" and it should pop up. There may even be some patterns here on the QB...haven't checked that out yet!

ha! I even have a Tater Bag kit that I bought when out and about in a Shop Hop!
