I just finished a quilt from a Karen Combs pattern called
"illusion" and have gobs of 2 1/2" squares and various size strips left. Too much to waste. There are 12 different shades of 5 different colors from dark to light. I usually use larger pieces for quilting. I probably have enough to make a twin size quilt or couch throw. I need some suggestions as I am blank right now just looking at it.

A trip around the world will use it all up. Or some 9 patch blocks. I know others will have good ideas too.

If you can, take some pictures and post them. That will help us give you some ideas. Sometimes a different color combo just jumps out at you when you have someone else look and try an idea.

I use 2.5" squares to "snowball" larger squares. These larger squares can be used all sorts of ways.

Here are 4 ways to snowball. Each, in multiples, makes different designs. I urge you to make a bunch to play with and arrange them in different patterns on your design wall.

Put two two and a half inch squares together, face to face and use them for leaders and enders. Then press, run them through again and make four patches, press and sew two four patches together and then sew the two half blocks together and you will make 8 patch blocks. I like to machine embroider some off white blocks and make kids quilts out of them. They are really sweet with baby faces, sunbonnet sues, or overall bill blocks. This makes sort of a "free" quilt while you are makeing something else when they are used for leaders and enders. Sometimes I get inspired and just sew a batch together.
