I am making calendar holders with a block on top, a pencil holder, a strap to hold any of your regular calendars. A twist on this; is the top will have 2 buttons on the top and I will be making different blocks to button on to change the look of the holder. I will also be making a clear plastic envelope type holder to be used to put your own pictures or notes. It can be placed under the calendar portion or on the top portion. This can also be an ongoing project, if you have several to make. New exchange blocks each year.

Some ideas we've found include:

For the cook - Casserole Tote with matching pot holders and mug mats

For the businessperson or card writer - Large or small portfolio

For the hi-tech person - iPad sleeve

For the new homeowner - Basket liner / tea towel or fabric art wall hangings.

For the entertainer - Treat basket

For the tea lover - Tea caddy

For the disorganized person - Over the door organizer

For the gift giver - Gift bags, fabric gift envelope

That's just some of the many links to free downloadable project patterns on the Free Patterns page of our web-site www.AChildsWorldofFabrics.com

I like your suggestions. With a full time job, husband and 14 year old, this list of gifts sounds very do able.

For those with children a hanging caddy for the back of the front car seat to hold books, crayons, maps, etc. whatever the children want to have within arms reach while they are traveling in their car seats or booster seats. Include a trash bag.

A hanging caddy with pockets that fits under a sewing machine and hangs down in front a few inches to hold small items like scissors, ruler, magnet for pins, etc.

For those who travel, shoe bags to put shoes in when packing.

I've already done table runners and placemats for 2 siblings, need to complete table runners, placemats or wall hangings (all Christmas themes) for 4 more.

Each grandchild, four, is being given a quilt. I have made 3 so far.

Oh dear - I didn't need to read this thread. I start thinking about Christmas after Thanksgiving and even that's too soon. Since I make quilts year 'round I usually have a few just hanging around and will choose from them to give. If I don't have enough, $$ is good for teens and gift certificates (even though it seems impersonal - which it is) for others. Families grow but $$$ doesn't (in the real world). You, who are sooooo on top of things, I salute. God bless ............

I am making those snap happy bags. In assorted sizes. They are so easy, and so much fun to make.

I just made a fabric line bowl and its 11 inches across and I think that is big enough. I put my grand babies books in it.
