I think my favorite is 8 inch. I really don't like 6" and smaller...way to small pieces and it takes a million blocks to make a quilt. What about you?

I pretty much don't care. If I like the block, I'll make it. I just don't like a ton of seams. My Sister however hates anything over 10" and sticks mostly to 8"

I like 6"

I like 8 to 12 inch blocks.
|
I like the smaller blocks usually 6 inches.

12 inch.

9" finished and under. Larger only if it is a truly multi-piece block

12" blocks

I think it depends on the pattern. I might use a 12" block for a dresden plate..... and a 4" block for a baby quilt. I like variety so different block size makes different looks.
|
I like big blocks - nothing smaller than 8 or 9" up to 12 or 15" depending on the finished size I'm aiming for
|
i think i prefer the 8-10". i made 12" on a king and i felt that the design looked too spaced apart. definitely not into very small blocks

I rarely work with any blocks smaller than 8 inches, if I like the pattern and it's too small for me, I'll just enlarge the pieces.
|
I like 12" because there is so much that you can do with them...double the "recipe" and you've got a great wall-hanging, halve it and you've got blocks for baby quilt. Plus, I like a lot of room for quilting and the spaces get rather tight if the block is smaller than 12".

Varies with the particular block

I use anything 2 inches and larger but prefer smaller to larger
