A basic Log Cabin is my favorite "go to" pattern. Easy to construct and can be put together in various ways to make many different looks. I prefer to paper piece my log cabins as I don't need precise cutting for the logs.

I discovered Jenny Doan's Double Slice quilt pattern this fall, and am looking forward to making it with a layer cake of fruit and veggie fabrics - tomatoes, potatoes, brussel sprouts, water melon, etc. I think it should be a lot of fun. I think this pattern should be great for these fabrics, since I don't want them cut too small; this will keep the fun images at a decent sized piece of fabric.

I took a class with the Take 5 Quilt Pattern...take 5 minutes to choose 5 fabrics and make the quilt top in 5 hours.
The time saving part was in cutting the fabrics. You stack the fabrics to cut out the squares. Fun concept. It took me 30 minutes to pick out my fabric.(before the class) :) |
I like half-square triangles. I have made them in may sizes and can arrange them in so many different ways. I have never gotten bored. The end result can be very traditional or modern. I have a simple black and white sheet with about 30 ideas for blocks that use HDT, but can't find its link.(Grrrrr) But I did locate a site that has some good illustrations, https://www.sewwhatalicia.com/half-square-triangles/

Other than Warm Wishes for crib quilts, I don’t think I’ve ever made the same pattern more than once. I have too many on my bucket list to try...
Tallchick, lovely quilt. I’ll have to check out the MSQC video...it looks like a quick one to put together. |

I like Yellow Brick Road, and I add a dark narrow strip down the center of each of my blocks. That adds one piece to each block, but it's still a fast pattern. Originally the blocks have only a few pieces each: 3, 4, and 5, or 4, 5 and 6--I forget which.

Rail Fence or the traditional 9 patch. I recently saw a quilt made by my grandmother. It isa churn dash that I'm strongly thinking I want to make and it could be another quick and easy.
