What is your favorite line of fabric?
I decided today was the day to start getting my fabric organized. I had read Alaskasunshine's tutorial on fabric folding and thought it looked like a good idea. In the past, I kept all my fabric on the cardboards from JoAnn's. That took up too much room, so I decided to just stack them. Well, you know how that goes; you always want the fabric on the bottom, and everything gets messed up. I ordered the magazine sized boards from Amazon. So I am sitting here folding away, and started looking at the selvage. I apparently have two favorite manufacturers...Moda and Hoffman. Next is Timeless Treasures. And green fabric and fall patterns are winning the design war! Along with Christmas prints. I haven't started on batiks yet...there are a whole bunch of them just sitting on that shelf waiting for me to walk back into that closet and rescue them! What's your favorites?

I agree with all three of yours. I tend to like bright light colors, more true than gray and Moda and Hoffman each do a good job at that. Timeless treasures I just love the designs they come up with.
Moda, Alexander Henry and Michael Miller
I agree with you too. Moda is my favorite. Then I like Hoffman. I'm not sure after that.
Red Rooster, Bernartex, Moda. That being said, I've seldom seen a fabric I couldn't adopt and bring home to join the rest of my stash.
P & B., Moda and Timeless Treasures are my favorites but I also like Robert Kaufman. I seem to gravitate towards them first.
my very fav. is Northcott. can be a bit pricey but love the feel
Michael Miller, Hoffman, Moda and feed sacks!
Moda. Definitely Moda. Especially their Civil War line of fabric.
Moda, Marcus Brothers, Northcot
Moda fabrics are usually the fabrics that catch my eye the most--I'm never surprised when I reach for a roll of fabric and discover it is Moda.
Gee, the overall concensus seems to be Moda! I'm still folding, still finding Moda winning the race! LOL!
Moda fabrics for me! Everything from Kansas Troubles to Holly Taylor designs. I love the look and the quality.
Oh yeah, and the green is definitely winning. I have every shade of green you can imagine! I see a green quilt in my future!!
Moda is always my first choice, and Ilove their Kansas Troubles. Thimbleberries is probably the best quality quilting fabric I have ever bought. Needs very little ironing, if any when it comes out of the dryer, has a lovely feel to it. but I have to say, I think I probably have some of everybodies in my stash! Oh and I love Marcus Bros, too.
Hands down Alexander Henry (I have over 150 of his fabrics) followed by Timeless Treasures and Michael Miller/Robert Kaufman
Hugs April |
I am a fan of Robert Kaufman , then Moda, then Hoffman.
Moda & Riley Blake
I also love Moda.
I love Moda and Maywood Studios.
My first choice is In The Beginning by Jason Yenter.
Moda is my very favorite. Unfortunately, for my budget, I like most other fabric manufacturers too.
LOVE sweetwater for moda! my absolute favorite!
I love Moda, especially the Civil War prints. I was going to use them on a quilt and needed fat quarters but man I hated paying $3.50 for a fat quarter...so I've waited lol Also love Hoffman fabrics.
My absolute favorite was Kansas Troubles Summers End line, it is heavnly!!!
Maywood for the touch of the fabric, Moda for their collections, RJR for Thimbleberries, Hoffman for their Batik cut fabrics, Free Spirit, Wilmington, P&B for their children's panels and their 108" backing of white on white, Marcus Bro for their 30's line, Oh my....I could go on and on...so I guess I don't have a favorite, I just LOVE fabric..
I love Moda and most of their designers: French General, etc. I also like Timeless Treasures and Michael Miller, as well as Henry Glass and some Lucien.
:) Let's see if it is woven, has a good hand and has the colors that I love, I like it. My favorite brands are Michael Miller, Moda, Alexander Henry, Maywood studios.....
Moda, definitely! Love any and all batiks, too!
Cara Collection Serenity, Fabric Freedom of London (fabulous hand, designs and colors), and Hoffman-California batiks.
Moda and Robert Kaufman. How are these companies so consistantly brilliant in their designs? I love (almost) everything that they come out with.
All of the above are my favorites! Even tho I will say right now I'm working on a Storm at Sea and using a ClothWorks fabric and it has a nice tight weave and very little fraying and I'm very appreciative of it for this particular project!
In the Beginning has such a wonderful, sillky feel and beautiful colors and designs. Moda is a huge company and they do make quality fabric, so it's not surprising it is getting so many votes, but run your hand across In the Beginning fabric if you can find some at a quilt store near you. I love it!

Northcott with Deborah Edwards as my favorite designer from that manufacture and I buy alot of Benartex with Nancy Halvorsen being the designer. The Northcott I just add to the stash and Benartex I actually work with. I just finished piecing 2 lap quilt tops made from Benartex's Bittersweet line.

Moda always calls me.
