I just did 5 log cabins all made out of scraps - 4 blocks x 4 and backed them with flannel. They will be used at a retirement home.

This is beautiful.

I really like Patches and Pinwheels by Bonnie Hunter. It uses a tone of little pieces. I hate to waste fabric because it's so expensive. With this pattern you use pieces down to 2 inch squares.

I usually don't make the same ones. I go to Bonnie Hunter's site and look thru her free patterns for scrappy quilts. Pattern list is on the right, scroll down a bit:

This year I want to use up some of my scraps. I'm interested in knowing what is your go to pattern using scraps or a scrappy quilt on your bucket list. Thanks for your ideas.

Irregular and small cuts make great crumb blocks.

Anything out of half square triangles. I also love Drunkards Path, particularly if I have some fabrics with quilters gold or very sumptuous pattern.

Shorebird: Where do I locate Smith Mountain Morning pattern by Bonnie Hunter? It is gorgeous and our son lives in VA near the Blue Mountains. They would love it.
