I have an olfa 45, never used anything else! Love it.

I've converted to the 60" I'm lazy so I cut as many layers at a time as possible and the 60" is a lot easier. It did seem big at first but now I'm used to it.

I still have my 45 and I use it too if it happens to be handy and I'm only cutting 3-4 layers tops. I consider it my "travel" rotary cutter. It's also good to switch to periodically if I'm doing a LOT of cutting because it has a different handle, so it fatigues my arm in a different way, lol.

And I have a 28 that I use too, mostly for cutting applique pieces or lopping off "thread tentacles" from freshly-washed fabric!

Actually gave that one to a friend when her 45 got lost in her sewing room and she was in the middle of a project. The 60 might be floating around in my cabinet - no clue really.

My go to rotary cutter is also 45mm. I sold my 60mm because I decided I could really hurt myself with that. I have a 28mm but I really like that one that is smaller than the 28mm. I used it to cut all the 1" hexagons I used in my GFG.

I have 18mm, 28mm, 45mm, and 60mm, my favorite is 45mm, but I love my 60mm for thicker items so it is my 2nd most used one, have yet to touch the other 2, I was gifted the 18 and won the 28 but still haven't used either

I love my Martinelli 45mm rotary cutter, it is my go to cutter. I have a 18mm for the Easy Cut Circle Ruler I use quite a bit, and I also have a 28mm that I have never used.

I love the control of a 28mm for appliques. The 60mm scares me.

Hello there! I'm thinking of purchasing a Martelli rotary cutter, how we'll do u like it and do you seem to cut better? Can u use your regular rulers with this cutter.

My 45 is the one I use the most and the 28 is what is what I use for my final trim of each block.

I always use the 45mm that automatically retracts. I find it comfotable and safe.

So far the majority likes the 45 mm, with some liking the 60 (those of us who aren't afraid of it - I am!!!) and some, like me, liking the 28 mm. Olfa and Martelli seem to be the top brands, at least so far. Since so many of you like the 45 mm cutter, I'll have to try mine again and see if I can get used to it. Thanks for answering my questions. I am always curious as to what other tools quilters are using and why.
